With an increasing number of organisations transforming their workspaces into flexible work environments. I was asked to think of ways to investigate and improve the process of booking and checking in office space for employees or flex workers of an office location.

Insight into availability
In the context of people visiting an office building we wanted to visitors to quickly see if and identify an office was available to use or not. We decided to use status colours to fill in the entire screen so the status of an office can be identified from a good distance.
Starting a booking
In addition to showing the availability of an office space users would also be allowed to initiate a booking or check in at a workspace by scanning a QR code. This allowed for a flexible use of external booking apps or services.
