Musem kids

The Museumvereniging is the public sector organisation of museums in the Netherlands; they intend to create a strong support for all museums by looking after collective interests. One of their brands is Museum kids, an online platform for kids that stimulates offline museum visits. How can we enhance this brand and increase the value for museums and kids?

Inspectors unite.

The platform attracts kids by offering them the role of museum inspectors. In this role they get to ‘inspect’ or rate a museum on their offerings for kids. Not only is this a lot of fun for the kids but this gives valuable information for parents that want to plan a future visit to a museum. In addition, it offers museums the opportunity to identify and improve the experience for kids visiting their museum.

The goal was to create a community where kids could share their experiences and interact with other inspectors in a safe and fun environment. Allowing them to become advocates for the museums and the Museum Kids platform.

Without a little help from a friend

As part of the Museum Kids brand there is “Tikkit”, a character that helps kids relate to the museums. “Tikkit” is already a strong voice and image of Museum kids so it was crucial to use Tikkit to bridge the gap between the digital and offline experience.

Making interactions meaningful and fun

Enhancing the online experience by researching the touch points in the user journey of kids visiting a museum. The most valuable thing for museums are the inspections done by the kid inspectors.
